Snow Day #4 for my kids. This our dog pooh bear outside being unsure of the snow.

Wednesday, January 28, 2009

What a storm we had in the last 36 hours. We had snow, more snow, ice and then more snow. All this with below freezing temperatures. The picture above shows a little bit of distance from the building to show the lack of visibility from all snowing coming down. The picture below shows how much ice has accumulated on the trees. Both pictures were taken from the 2nd floor of Fidelity my place of employment.

Our first major snow of the season. We had about 4 inches on the ground prior to me leaving work and when this picture was taken it was icing. We are going to have about 1/4 of inch of ice by the time it starts snowing again tonight. They are calling for another 6 inches of snow. Snow days and more snow days.

I have two pictures for today. The above picture was taken from Hanover College. They informed us they have the best view ever and that view would be of Kentucky. It was pretty amazing.
This would be the view I had on my way back to Hanover to pick Stacey up from her visit. The way the sun was hitting the mountain up ahead just gave me such a peaceful feeling on my drive. I had to stop in the road capture the picture.

Today my husband and I took our daughter Stacey to Hanover College in Indiana. This weekend is a big weekend for her. They invite the best of their applicants to attend for a weekend to compete for a competitive scholarship. It was just an honor for her to be invited. They had dinner for all of us and then parents went to a reception at the President of Hanover house. It was a very nice evening. This a picture of Stacey at dinner. As you can tell she wasn't thrilled that I was taking her picture. Say a prayer that she knocks there socks of tomorrow in the essay and during the interviews.

Today at work I am listening to the TV radio and the news breaks in that there is an accident involving a school bus, a camry and a house about 5 blocks from my house. First of all I drive a camry or rather my son does and being that close to my house makes me panic. Not sure what actually happen but I know neither of my children were involved. Of course they both went and checked it all and made sure to take a picture for my blog. It was taken with their camera and it isn't the best but it will do.

We didn't get to our watch our weekly show on Monday so we watched it all together this evening. It is much quicker to watch on DVR no commercials. This pictures shows all four of us relaxing watching One Tree Hill

By the end of our three day weekend we were truly exhausted. Roger and I slept like a rock after he left. We babysat a little more this weekend than plan due to unexpected circumstances. This picture shows our happy little guest and why we we love watching him. He just steals our heart away he is so sweet.

Today we got together with my husbands side of the family to celebrate my father in laws 81st birthday. He is pictured here with his back to the camera looking at his crazy family. This picture only shows maybe a 1/4 of the family that was in attendance. There were family members in all rooms, kids running around, football games being watched. We enjoyed the famous spaghetti and meatballs. Two of my sister laws prepare the meal every year and I heard they rolled 372 meatballs this morning.

This is my family from left to right. My dad, my husband Roger, my son Dylan holding our weekend visitor Andrew, my son's friend Dylan, my mom and then my brother. We were missing my daughter Stacey and my sister in law Lindsey. We were celebrating my dads 60 birthday. We all just finished eating lasagna, cake and ice cream. The guys played a few games of intense cornhole on the wii. The old group my dad and brother beat the two teenager boys.

Friday was a very special day for Kelsey and myself. I have coached Kelsey since she was in fifth grade and she is now a Senior. She is the first player of my soccer team to sign her Letter of Intent. She signed with Midway College and will be playing soccer for them in fall of 2009.

Friday, January 16, 2009

January 12, 2009

Monday was so ill that I stayed home from work with strep throat. My great husband took care of cooking dinner and cleaning afterwards. (He typically does this anyway). I just sat at the table and admired him for while before heading back to bed.

My First Week

January 9, 2009
We received our new recliner today. We had our last one for almost a year and we loved it but we had to place to many service calls so they replaced it with another one. This one is smaller but it is a rocker/recliner. As you can tell our dog loves it. She thinks she is the princess.
